Places to eat!

There are so many good places that we couldn’t fit them all. Here are a few more we enjoy in no particular order: Burgerfi, Coolinary Cafe, Spoto’s Oyster Bar, Bolay, Captain Charlie’s Reef Grill (super oldschool local place), Kabuki (great happy hour), Coopers Hawk, Burger Bar...
This location and atmosphere is really unique. All outdoor seating and tiki bars surrounded by palms so may not be the best on a rainy day. It’s right on the intercostal so it’s a great view. The food is good but the setting is really fun and makes it worth it!

This place has one of my favorite dishes. It’s a whole cooked snapper, head on. Best I’ve ever had. Atmosphere is beach/surfer and the food is great.

This place is VERY casual. It’s pretty much a hotdog stand that transformed into a restaurant over time. You’ll see what I mean if you go. They have some seafood on the menu as well but it’s pretty traditional stuff like fried fish and clams. They have weekly specials sometimes too where kids eat free that you might want to look into.

Really good selection of local fresh fish with unique island preparation. We always have a good meal here and it can get pricey but I think the quality justifies it. They have a dish call Indoroni which is the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. No fish in it but had to mention it.

This place is right on the intercoastal. It’s kind of a tourist trap. Foods decent, views are fun with big boats going by. Worth a stop by for lunch or dinner.

When we are in town we end up either eating here or getting meals to go at least once a week. When we aren't in town we end up talking about it over and over again! Hole in the wall type place with fairly limited menu but everything is so delicious. Best part is that it’s about a 3 minute drive from the house. Very limited seating indoors and outdoors so it may not be the best for a large group.

This is our goto spot for breakfast/brunch any day of the week. We have never had a bad meal but it does get VERY busy on Saturday and Sunday. If you download the Yelp app on your phone you can get a place in line before you drive up which will save you time waiting.

This place has been around locally forever and has super consistent, good quality BBQ. Their cornbread is amazing so when they offer you “Would you like cornbread of garlic toast?” tell them to get out of there with their toast and choose cornbread every time! They just opened a location at the mall but they seem to still be working out the kinks so I would suggest going to the location in North Palm Beach.

Places to go outside!

When the sun is shining these are our favorite spots!
Of course this is top of the list. Our favorite beach is Juno which also happens to have a ton of free parking. If you go to the Juno Pier parking lot there are many parking spots, a bathroom, and a fishing pier. The fishing pier costs a couple bucks to go out on but you can see the ocean from farther out with all the people catching fish. Sometimes you will see some big pelicans trying to steal some fish as well! The beach right around the pier is always a good place as the pier gives some good shade to take a break and has multiple lifeguards. If you go a little farther north of the pier, dogs are allowed on the beach.

Our favorite park is the Burns Road Park at the City of Palm Beach Gardens Recreation Center. It has a great playground that would have things for a wide range of kids. It is also next to the little water park that would be good for younger kids. The playground is free but the water park costs a little bit. Check with the hours as they just finished remodeling it so it has been randomly closed.

This is open Sunday mornings located directly across the street from the Burns Road Park in the winter/spring and relocates to the self storage parking lot near the corner of PGA Blvd. and Military Trail during the summer. If you are able to go during the winter you will find a really nice selection of local vendors. It’s scaled back during the summer.

This is a pretty unique park that not many people know about. It has small beach on the intercoastal that has good shade from mangrove trees. You can see all the boats going back and forth and the big boats make fun waves for the kids. There is a little playground as well. The only downside is the only bathroom is a pretty far walk.

This one is a little pricey and a bit of a drive but I think it is well worth it. It’s a drive through safari with all kinds of African animals that walk right up to your car. Keep your windows up! There is also a walking section at the end where you can go on rides, feed giraffes, play with some birds, petting zoo and more. There is a little water park here as well. Plan on spending the majority of the day here. Check their website as sometimes they have coupons to make it a little less expensive.

This is actually very close to the Juno Pier. It is a sea turtle rescue that has some turtles you can checkout and some educational things about turtles and marine life. You may notice roped off sections on the beach. This is where a sea turtle laid their eggs recently. There is a small playground behind the marine life center as well.
