Don’t judge a book by its cover! It’s been remodeled but some of the old building remains and can look kind of divey....ignore that concern and go inside to find some of the most fantastic food and expansive wine selections around. You won’t be sorry unless you fail to get reservations! Sometimes you can get lucky with a walk in and also their lunch menu is worth a mention too. Upscale food and prices....

Nice intimate spot for a casual breakfast. They make their own bagels and croissants (butter...yum) and have good healthier options like frittatas and yogurt with fruit. There are a couple cozy couches and some copies of The NY Times to be had which is a nice way to spend a relaxing morning.

Beautiful lake for fishing, picnicking, waterskiing, jetskiing, canoeing, paddle boarding, crew rowing. You will often see bald eagles and ospreys as well as herons and an occasional golden eagle. There is even a water park for the kids with slides and the park has paddle board rentals. On sunny breezy days you can often see paragliders and hang gliders practicing their take offs and landings on the hill! It’s only 1/2 mile away so you can go for morning and evening strolls without needing to drive very far. We have a canoe to rent for a nominal fee for the day if you need one...it includes life jackets, paddles, and beach towels.

A beautiful and challenging hike that offers fantastic panoramic views as its reward. Even more challenging and not for the faint of heart is hiking from Pilot Rock to the Greensprings Inn....a 15 mile hike along the PCT with the reward of the greensprings inn at the end (exceptional food and beer! Yay!) This one needs preparation though... carry food and water and be in good shape to handle 7-8 hours of continuous hiking.....you also need a shuttle driver to pick you up at the end unless you have the foresight to drop a car up there before starting at the other end....whew!

A wild 4 day rafting trip thru the backcountry where you’re guaranteed to see bears, eagles and maybe even a cougar. You need a permit and rafting experience or to go with a registered outfitter. Reserve your spaces early because these usually develop a wait list. There’s also rafting along the gentler parts of the river thru outfitters in Shady Cove....not so imperative to book ahead and this is a nice way to spend a hot summer day. If you go on the wild and scenic we would store your luggage if you book with us before and after your rafting trip.

This a a terrific spot to sample and purchase award winning cheeses made locally and organically. Talk to them about farm tours to see their “smart farm setup” and the happy cows! Grab an interesting blue cheese and honey grilled cheese sandwich and take it next door to Ledger David tasting room to eat with the Chenin Blanc. Top it off by a stroll next door to Lille Belle Chocolates and you have a true culinary experience!

Lavendar caramels with a sprinkling of sea salt, Smokey blue cheese chocolate truffle spread, chocolate aged in charred oak whiskey barrels, the flying pig bar (chocolate bar with bacon in the middle!!) .....some of them might sound deranged, gross, or far fetched.....trust me....they are all heavenly. Be ready to work out before and after a trip here. Calories, calories.....but so worth it.

A really close little par 3 course....only 3 miles away from our house and a fun spot for some easy golfing. For a more upscale course, go to Centennial in Medford or Eagle Point Golf Course. A little rough but with promise would be Stone Ridge Golf Course also out in Eagle Point.... a really fun course.
