The Buckeye Recreation Center has a fabulous indoor facility dedicated to expanding the recreational needs of residents and visitors alike: full-size gymnasium, indoor tennis, meeting areas, fitness area with state-of-the-art equipment, kid’s playroom, living room area, and an indoor walking track. The Buckeye Lake Park also offers outdoor recreation: tennis, walking track, ball fields, hiking trails, picnic shelters, fishing, boating, a campfire area, and picnic spots.

Hiking and Biking at Emerald Outback
Free access to 7 miles of gorgeous and challenging trails great for hiking, biking, and trail runners.
It is free to access and open all days throughout the year. The emerald green forest filled with gnarly Beech trees, lush undergrowth, and small streams is the reason why this is a popular spot among nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
From June through September, lift access to the Emerald Outback is available Friday through Sunday (for a fee) via the chairlift at Beech Mountain Resort. The resort’s lift includes trays to carry mountain bikes to the summit, with riders following closely behind in a traditional lift chair. Hikers can ride the lift as well.

Hawksnest is the East Coast’s largest snow tubing park. This is definitely the best possible way in Beech Mountain to spend some time with family and friends during the lazy winters.
It has 4 different areas with over 30 professionally lit lanes of different types of terrains for snow tubing ranging from 400-1,000 feet (122 m - 305 m) long with two moving carpet lifts to bring you back to the top.
