If you are into Italian food and cooking, do stop in here. The proprietors are lovely, and import everything from Italy. Last time I was in, they mentioned that they are going to start importing wines too. Of note, you can get a pizza kit there for a quick meal; they also make prepared foods. Walking distance from Cape Haven, on 6a.

When we were kids, going to this place at least once per summer was a tradition. It is full of cheap and sometimes cute stuff, everything from furniture, to home décor, to clothing, to groceries. There’s one in Bourne (15 minutes from Cape Haven, off 6a or if you are coming over the Sagamore Bridge, Exit 1 on Route 6) and in Hyannis (20 minutes from Cape Haven).

In Sandwich – nice little coffee shop and restaurant right down the street – perhaps 3-minute drive from Cape Haven. Very tasty, friendly staff, and convenient place to grab some caffeine and a bite to eat in the morning. They support the Riverview school, and employ young people with disabilities, so please do support their good work!

In Sandwich – best seafood restaurant on the Cape, ocean to table, right on the Canal. Also they have a great seafood market if you feel like getting stuff to bring home and cook. Go in time to watch sunset on the Canal - but they book quickly, so make reservations far in advance, or plan on waiting to sit at the bar (which is also fun!). Solid live music too!

A hidden gem in Dennis – BYOB! Terrific seafood hidden behind a boatyard, right on the water. Our *favorite* place to go – great for kids – seating is outside on picnic tables with umbrellas, kids can walk through the boatyard or along the waterway while you wait for your food. A nice way to spend a sunset! It can get crowded in the summer, so go early!

Hyannis, South Yarmouth. TERRIFIC locally made ice cream. You’ll probably want to go more than once to try lots of different flavors, or to take some home. Also – there’s an “ice cream war” going on on the Cape – you should also try Smuggler’s in Dennis – see which is your favorite!
