Places to see in the area

Here are some of my favourite places to see near our lovely home in Mougins. I hope you like them!
The beautiful town of Grasse is considered by many as the world's capital of perfume. There are 3 perfume factories that offer daily tours and demonstrations. Not to miss the annual 'Jasmin Festival' (Fête du Jasmin or La Jasminade) at the beginning of August. The railway station of Grasse -Gare de Grasse- is very well connected to Nice, Cannes and Ventimiglia; and there are also buses, like the Ligne 600 from Cannes.

The Promenade de la Croisette is a road in Cannes that is about two kilometers long. It is mainly famous for the Palais des Festivals and its shops. Here you can find some of the finest designers: Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, Armani... and some of the most beautiful hotels, such as the Martinez, the Carlton or The Majestic.

The city of Aix-en-Provence is little bit further, but it is definitely worth a visit. A day trip to Aix is more than worth it - lovely little city to wander around in its beautiful streets. Paul Cézanne, one of France's finest painters, lived here!

Known as 'Nice la Belle' (Nice the Beautiful), it is another city that is worth a day trip. Receives around 4 million visitors every year that enjoy its lovely museums and the famous Promenade des Anglais, a 2km promenade along the Mediterranean.

Great little beach for families. A gem in the Côte d'Azur: off the beaten path there is a quiet beach worth seeing. It has a fantastic seaview.

Located at the entrance of the ville of Mougins, this museum has the world’s largest private collection of ancient arms and armour. It has four floors, but it easy to navigate and understand and it is superbly curated.

Saint-Tropez is a stylish seaside resort and probably the most famous village of the Côte d'Azur. However, not so long ago it was just a humble fishing village. The town was made fashionable by French actress Brigitte Bardot when she was shooting a movie here in the 50s.

Easy to reach from Mougins by car, train or bus. Monaco has a special status in the region: this coastal city is its own principality and has its own royal family. Not to miss the Palais Princier, the Oceanographic Museum, the Cathedral, the Jardin Exotique and the famous Casino de Monaco.
