A beautiful lake only 15 minutes away with lots of beautiful houses and waterfalls. Two different good restaurants to eat at on the water also and several companies you can rent pontoons or jetskis from. If you love the outdoors I highly recommend a day on the lake!

This is a little drive towards the mountains but it is a cave for trains that was never finished and Clemson University previously used it to store their homemade blue cheese. It is now owned by the national park services. Very close by is also Isaqueena Falls that you can park and walk a short distance to see the waterfall. My favorite hike is close by called YellowBranch Falls but this is a moderate hike for anyone not use to hiking.

If you are willing to drive 45 minutes towards the mountains then I highly suggest this hike for anyone in good shape. It is rated as a moderate hike and will get your heart pumping and you will have to watch for lots of roots so you don't fall. It is 3 miles round trip but when you arrive at the waterfall, you are at the base of the fall and there are lots of rocks you can walk on and get in the water. I usually take a snack to eat on a rock before hiking out.

My favorite local hike here in Central to a 50 foot waterfall. It is considered an easy trail most of which follows along the stream and brings you out at the top of the waterfall. There are some steap steps you can take to the base as well. All along the trail there are bridges and benches built and maintained by a local boyscout troup.

Your Pie is easily one of my favorite places because you walk through a line and they make the pizza according to the toppings you desire. I mix it up every time I go! Then the pizza is oven fired while you sip on a nice beer selection from breweries probably within 300 miles of Clemson.

A newer restaurant over looking Lake Hartwell also joined to a new condo complex and shopping center. With an upscale bar area and a beautiful outdoor patio with a fire pit, I highly recommend their pimento cheese fried green tomatoes!

Another great place to grab an amazing selection of beers and the best food in all of Oconee County. You have to drive to Seneca but you won't regret starting your night here and then working your way back to Clemson or Central. All their food is amazing but I recommend the fish and chips or the mahi tacos.
