Lagoons and Volcanoes
Nicaragua is known as the land of lakes and volcanoes. Near my place there are two of the most famous volcanoes and the most visited lagoon destinations.
At the National Park Masaya Volcano you can enjoy watching the crater of a active volcano. I suggest to you to visit it at night so you can behold the volcanic lava and get wonderful pictures. The National Park is half an hour from my place.

This is one of my favorite destinations in Nicaragua. It´s located about 50 minutes from my place. There are many places where you can spend the day or lodge. If you would like to swim in a volcano crater and drink some cold beers. This is the right place.

Mombacho volcano is an excellent option to climb and walk. There are three path of different level of difficulty. You will get to a beautiful viewpoint from where you can behold the city of Granada ( a colonial city) and the lake of Nicaragua.
In the skirt of the volcano you can enjoy one of the most famous coffees, "Café Las Flores", where you can also taste a great dessert. I suggest to you the cheese cake with the passion fruit syrup.

Mombacho volcano is an excellent option to climb and walk. There are three path of different level of difficulty. You will get to a beautiful viewpoint from where you can behold the city of Granada ( a colonial city) and the lake of Nicaragua.

This is a great place to go if you have children or if you like to work out. Luis Alfonso Velasquez Park has great basketball courts and running tracks. You will meet children as well as adults enjoyining it. There are water games too.
