Sightseeing

Ride the loop railroad between Georgetown and Silver Plume. We love the open air cars on beautiful days. Add the mine tour for a dose of history, geology, and a little spookiness! Check out the calendar because the train has lots of special events and added fun throughout the year.

There is SO much to see and do across Guanella Pass. If you’re up for an adventure, there are tons of hiking trails, and a fourteener, over the pass. If you’re more the drive and get out at scenic spots type, you can drive to the top of Guanella Pass for breathtaking beauty and stop at several scenic spots on the way. It’s truly beautiful.

The visitors center has local volunteers who are passionate about the area, on hand to guide you on what to do and where to go. Plus there’s a great movie on loop showing the history of Georgetown and the surrounding area. Sometimes you can even spot the mountain goat herd that lives on the mountain from the visitors center.

Breweries & Bars

Guanella Pass Brewing Company is a perfect spot to relax, have a beer (or sample a few) and soak in the mountain views. It doesn’t hurt that the beer is world class.
