Our local curry house - also do takeaways. Plenty of cheaper curry takeaways on high street but we find this usually better quality.

Sightseeing

The grandest of the local castles. Slightly twee tour but a stunning building and a great example of the Scottish style of castle building. In the summer you could easily spend a day here.

Lovely walk starts in St. Vigeans - follows an old railway line. Flat, easy for everyone. The village of St. Vigeans is stunning - the Pictish Standing Stone Museum is also here.

Historic Arbroath Abbey brood over Arbroath. A fascinating place linked to the declaration of Arbroath - some say a model for the US declaration of independence some 450 years later.

One of the last working water powered grain mills in Scotland. This fascinating wee place really does try and reach out to the community - you might find music, duck races, dog days and all kinds of events on.

Closest access to the beach from the house. Unfortunately, they have closed the access to the beach from the railway in from of the house. This is the closest spot to reach the beach. Small carpark and some fascinating fishing huts to the east.

Stunning beach - white sand, a brooding castle ruin (albeit one that can't actually be seen from the beach). Popular with dog walkers but this place is huge so never crowded.
