Lafayette Eateries

Pizza Antica has delicious salads and fancy-ish pizza. A great place for an outdoor lunch on a nice day. It’s right downtown Lafayette (left on Mt. Diablo).

While we've found the food to be average, the Cooperage has a great vibe and lots of outdoor seating. The highlight is their cocktail menu.

Kinda fancy food with nice outdoor eating area. It's unassuming because it's in the Safeway/Whole Foods parking lot, but it's nicer than you think!

SUPER cute eatery right downtown Lafayette. They have a cute outdoor area, including blankets on a colder day. They are also right on the park, so you can order wine or lunch and eat on the lawn. They also provide lawn toys for adults and kids, which is fun!

Food scene

About 7 minutes from our house, this new brewery is a fantastic place to enjoy a brew in a cool setting. Near Saint Mary's College, this is an upscale eatery (though not too expensive), that takes some time to get food, but has awesome outdoor and indoor seating. If you like breweries, this is a can't miss in the Lamorinda area.

Beautiful walking path around the Reservoir. Great way to enjoy a beautiful day. It also has a fantastic playground for children and paddle boats to rent. I believe it’s about 1.25 miles around. Here's a link to pictures: http://www.yelp.com/biz/lafayette-reservoir-lafayette

Hiking Mt. Diablo is also a beautiful outdoor adventure. There are many low key hikes that we take the kids on, or advanced ones all over the place. The ones we take the kids on is the Summit hike (which is basically like a really pretty/easy walk) or to walk around Rock City. It's waaaay cool and has tons of old rocks to climb. About a 15 minute drive to the mountain, then drive up, up, up. http://www.bahiker.com/eastbayhikes/mdsp/diablo.html

Tilden Park is a gorgeous (and huge) park with incredible views of San Francisco. Within the park there are plenty of things to do, including riding a steam train, the “little farm,” etc. It’s a wonderful place to sit and take in the sights of the East Bay and beautiful San Francisco.
