If you have work to do, this is the perfect place to set up your lap top, order a latte and get to it. I highly recommend the avocado toast (on the weekends and in the afternoons) and their sweet pastries. If you're there on a sunny day, sit in the back garden and settle in to the rocking chair.

Blvd is conveniently located 10 steps from the front door. Recently named the best soul food in the United States (!) BLVD is in the middle of what some call a Harlem culinary Renaissance. The husband and wife team of Carlos and Markisha Swepson behind BLVD are among those defining it with what chef Carlos calls “Crafted American Soul” food. Come for the biscuits and stay for EVERYTHING else. Their brunch is dangerously tasty but know that this restaurant does not serve liquor, only beer and wine.

Sightseeing

If you want to rent a bicycle and tour New York City like a local, this is the place to start. Not only are their prices fair but they also offer tours throughout harlem and central park. It doesn't hurt that they are located just across the street.

Entertainment & Activities

This is one of our favorite theaters in the city. Metrograph is a unique experience of seeing prestigious films; of stepping into a special, curated world of cinema, a world of hospitality harkening back to the great New York movie theaters of the 1920s, as well as the Commissaries of the Hollywood Studio back lots, a world inhabited by movie professionals screening their work, taking meetings, watching films. It’s the ultimate place for movie enthusiasts. One weekend they will show Roald Dahl films and the next a Madonna retrospective - it is always interesting and old school, worth the trek down to the lower east side.
