These are a few of our favorite places (in no particular order) around the Austin area to experience great cuisine. There are so many choices and variations, and it is hard to go wrong. Truly my favorite thing is to try new places, especially food trucks.
Hands-down my favorite place for gourmet pizza. I've never eaten anything here I didn't like. The crust is soft, thick, yet crisp and just amazing. It's a bit of a drive but soooo worth it!

Fast, affordable, fresh, and super yummy! My boys are all about the burritos and I love the fish tacos. They offer different tortilla flavors they make right in front of you. Try them all!

Upscale southern dining in downtown Austin. However, I could just go and eat an order of biscuits and call it day. They are a MUST TRY. Admittedly, the best filet and hot toddy I've ever had in my life. My husband is all about the seafood pot pie.

A hop, skip, and a jump away...Oh, the Bourbon Slush! Okay, I like frozen drinks if that isn't evident yet :-) Excellent fried green tomatoes, trout and creole shrimp and grits.

One of our favorite burger (soooo many to be had in Austin it is hard pick a #1!) and fry (try the truffle parmesan or sweet potato!) joints. My boys love the shakes and they make a hardcore quality frozen margarita.

My daughter used to work here and boy do I miss the discount! This is bougie, fast, health food and so good. The gluten-free lemon muffins are addictive. If you're at the Domain it's a good place to grab something somewhat quick.

Pretzel bites, Korean steak, ribs, steak salad...all favorites. I love the buzzing atmosphere. It gets packed quickly so go early or make a reservation.

All the flavor of Franklin's without as much of the wait. Man, if you're on a diet do NOT go here. They make everything from scratch and it is all AMAZING!

Our go-to fried chicken joint! It comes Wimpy all the way to Dang Hot! (and hotter if you ask). Shoestring fries are crisp and tasty. If you like butter pickles they make their own and they are yummy. I love the salad w/ crispy tenders or just tenders with fries and beans.

Fried green tomatoes, handcrafted cocktails, fried chicken biscuits, amazing cornbread with honey-butter, excellent fried catfish, and right across the way from Alamo Drafthouse. Go for a walk around the lake when you're done!

My husband loves the filet and I love the bass and the crab.
There are a ton of places to check out here! Great shopping and food options (some I've called out separately, like Culinary Dropout). They also host a Saturday series called Northside Rocks, with live concerts on the lawn from 5-6:30pm weekly.

EVERYONE loves Chuy's. Yummy chips/salsa, epic t-shirts (get one!), my favorite is the tortilla soup while my boys go for the Chimichanga (it's killer). Ask for extra creamy jalapeño dip for your chips!
