Sightseeing

Paithalmala is a hill station in the Kannur district of Kerala in India.Palakkayam thattu is a hill top which can be reached by Jeep and walk.There is an observatory tower made by the department of tourism at the hilltop which can be reached after a 45 min walk from the Paithal valley. Trekking starts through the dense forest followed by the plain grass land on the hill top.Once we reach there, there are many adventure activities and beautiful view points. If sky is clear, we can see Kannur airport and trains passing through valapattanam . zorbing, zipline, rope course etc are available here. Beautiful water falls and off road drives are are also available

Parassinikadavu snake park got a variety of snakes and other animals, including the spectacled cobra, king cobra, Russell's viper, krait and various pit vipers.park is mainly dedicated to the preservation of gradually extinct species. In a live show, trained personnel play and interact with a variety of snakes. A cafe 'NURK' is also available inside the zoo.Pappinisseri visha chikitsa treatment center for snake bite also a part of it along with MVR Ayurveda Medical Center .Kerala is famous for its alternative medical therapies such as ayurveda which helps to rejuvenate and revitalise the body.Kerala is probably the only state in India where Ayurveda is used as a mainstream medicine. Here one can see many Ayurvedic medical colleges and hospitals across the state

In 1498, during Vasco da Gama's visit to India, the local Kolathiri king granted the land to Portuguese to build a settlement in present-day Kerala.The Moppila Bay Harbor and Arakkal Mosque are near the fort. The fort is now well-maintained under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India. Tourists are allowed entry to the fort every day of the week between 8 AM to 6 PM.

Bus, taxi or rent a car are the best ways to get around

People are helpful and safe to travel via bus, taxi, your own car or rent a car is also available. Via bus it will be, a bit difficult to travel as the bus boards are mostly written in Malayalam.

THEYYAM

Theyyam which literally means God is a combination of ritual, theatrical and lived culture of the northern parts of Kerala.Its 1500 year old heritage finds some of its oldest roots in the earliest periods of Neolithic, Chalcolithic settlement and expression. It is a representative of a form of Hinduism practiced by the tribal communities since ancient times, and was overall considered a Dravidian art form.There are approximately 400 types of Theyyam.In parassini temple you can see two types of Theyyam from morning 5 t0 8 and evening 6 to 8
What to pack

umbrella and raincoats are a must. If you prefer to go for trekking, please get boats or comfortable shoes for trekking. If Possible wear a salwar while going to the temple.
