Lower Mills Area Restaurant Guide—ALL walkable from our home: Breakfast: · The Plate: just a two-minute walk from our home, the Plate is just over the Boston city line in the town of Milton. They have the BEST breakfast sandwiches. I highly recommend the classic with bacon! You cannot go wrong. · Sweet Life Bakery & Café: Located on the main strip of the Lower Mills downtown area, just a 3 minute walk from our home, this spot is perfect for a quick grab and go breakfast or for a more formal sit down meal. They have great omelets and other breakfast items and it’s definitely a popular spot for locals! · Steel & Rye: If you’re looking for a more upscale brunch experience, I would highly recommend Steel & Rye which is approx. 2 min walk from our home. Their food is amazing as well as their brunch cocktails. I recommend sitting at the bar for the full experience. Dinner: · Steel & Rye: Located just across the river (2 min walk) in Milton, their dinners are unmatched albeit a little pricey. This is our favorite spot for “special occasions.” Their menu is seasonal, but if you see the Bolognese, I highly recommend it! The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. · Lower Mills Tavern (LMT): Located on the main downtown strip (3 min walk), this spot has great American cuisine. They also have live music on the weekends and certain week nights. I have tried most things on their menu and really can’t pick a favorite! Everything is great! · Yellow Door Taqueria: Also on the main street of Lower Mills, this spot is not to be missed for amazing tacos, margaritas, and guac! It gets very crowded in their small space, so we recommend walking over about a half hour prior to when you want to eat to get your name on the list. We promise it’s worth it! I recommend the fried fish taco! Their bar tender has some serious skills so don’t be afraid to order one of their signature cocktails either. · The Bowery: If you’re visiting in the summer and want one of the BEST outdoor spaces in all of Boston, you must visit the Bowery. Their food is good (not as good as the above eateries), but the atmosphere cannot be beat. I recommend the burger! The outdoor lounge features a bar with tvs, couches, tables, and an area for games like cornhole and giant jenga. There is also often live music on the weekends. This is a great hang out spot that is utilized by folks from all over Boston. Take-Out: · BRED: If you like burgers, this spot is amazing! It is our go-to for take-out · Pat’s Pizza: great take-out pizza and other take-out items
