Set in 40 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland, Springfield is deemed one of East London’s ‘hidden treasures’ with formal gardens and conservation areas with extensive views across the Walthamstow Marshes nature reserve The park holds a Green Flag award. Green Flags are given to the best green spaces in the country Springfield Park is a great way to enjoy the leafy side of London for a few hours, with a scenic wander or cycle along the Lea River towpath being a wonderful, bucolic way to spend your time, with beautiful views across the River Lea and the Walthamstow Marshes. Amenities include - Springfield Park Café with it’s tea lawns is open monday to sunday 10am-4pm, children’s playground, river, riverside cafe, marina, tennis courts, table tennis table, cricket pitch, athletics track (seasonal), outdoor chess boards, bandstand, fountains, a pond and conservation area. It also has fully accessible toilets You can book tennis courts at the tennis office in Clissold Park, or call 020 7254 4235. Opening hours: October-May Mon-Fri 10am-Sunset, Sat-Sun 9am-Sunset and June-September: Mon-Fri 10am-8pm, Sat-Sun 9am-8pm. See Hackney Tennis for more information.
