Things to Do

My personal recommendation of things to do in KL city center as well as in the surrounding neighborhood. :)
If you play golf, this golf course is not to be missed. This 165-acre site is one of the most talked about golf course in the Klang Valley. The impressive 18-hole golf course was designed by renowned Australian designer, Max Wexler. They offer visitor packages. Check out the website for more information: http://www.berjayaclubs.com/jalil/Golf/GolfPackages.aspx

Neighborhoods

I'll recommend you neighborhoods that are worth visiting, whether for their food, art or music scene.
Bukit Jalil is an affluent suburb in Kuala Lumpur. It is home to the largest sport complex in the country, National Sport Complex, Bukit Jalil Stadium and the Axiata Arena, popular venue of world class concerts and events. As an up and coming city center, the neighborhood is bustling with new cafes and areas to hang out. The food scene here as well as in the nearby Sri Petaling is very popular with locals. Just across the Bukit Jalil Recreational Park, a brand new mall - the Pavilion Bukit Jalil will be opening soon. Bukit Jalil is strategically located to all the major highways, which means getting to the city center takes 20mins and to other neighborhoods such as Mont Kiara 35-40mins. Bukit Jalil is popular with students as there are 3 universities close by, young families and young professionals.

If you're tired of pretentious western style cafes, go here for decent pork soup noodles. The hearty pork based soup broth and noodles is guaranteed to fill you up. Roughly 20mins walk from Link2@Bukit Jalil or less than 5mins by car. Tip: Finding a parking here can be a real nuisance. Double park if you must, but take note of what time the traffic police come around to fine illegally parked cars.

Closest supermarket to do your grocery shopping. They have a decent selection of fresh vegetables and meats as well as dried goods, but don't expect to find any imported items here. Not my favorite supermarket to do my grocery shopping in KL but great for last minute buys.

City advice

Getting around

Get around by GrabCar or train (LRT/MRT)

The main tourist spots in the city center are well connected by LRT or MRT. However, if you need to head a bit further out of town, Grab would be the next best option. * Uber no longer operates in Malaysia. Grab is the most popular E-hailing service followed by a few others: Mula, EzCab, Dacsee, MyCar Passenger, JomRides The closest LRT station to Link 2@Bukit Jalil is Awan Besar and the journey to city center takes 40mins. ** During peak hours, Grab drivers may be limited and you may have to wait a while.
Customs and culture

Modest clothes required when entering places of worship

If you plan on entering a Mosque, men are required to cover their legs and women, their head and shoulders (as well as legs). For women, I suggest bring along a shawl to cover your head and shoulders. I also recommend dedicating a full day of ONLY visiting places of worship, that way you only need to cover up for that day.
Ways to save

GO KL city bus connects tourist spots for FREE

The GO KL city bus runs completely free of charge and serves 4 main lines. Green Line - KLCC and Bukit Bintang Purple Line - Bukit Bintang district - Chinatown Red Line - from KL Sentral - (Dataran Merdeka) Blue Line - Medan MARA - Bukit Bintang (Starhill/Concorde) Hop on at one of 10 official GO KL pick up point. * Buses are Lilac in color :)
