Fantastic food and ambiance and perfect for a special occasion while visiting Hudson. The restaurant feels like an upscale winter lodge with curated touches throughout. The food is great with a broad menu that features designer cocktails, fish, meats, and my personal favorite the Louisiana frog legs.

If you want casual, eclectic, carefree, LGBTQ-vibes with rich and unique flavors then come here! It's a local favorite and my personal favorite. Its the opposite of white table cloth dining, but the food is top notch. The menu is hard to describe but it's a little Caribbean, a little Spanish, a little American, so you need to just check it out.
Expect to wait if you arrive after 8pm and have a large group. Best to grab a seat just before 7pm.

The menu is hard to describe but it's a little Caribbean, a little Spanish, a little American, so you need to just check it out.

Oak is the place I go when everywhere else is booked and I'm flying solo or with a small group. Also a great lunch spot. The wood fired pizzas are hearty and good, but the real treat is the small tasting plates, especially if you like big flavors and fish.

The Maker Lounge is the new hot thing, but travel small because it's hard to get a table during prime time (8-11pm). The cocktails and ambiance are really unique and well curated by the founders. You feel relaxed and important when there. Great for a drink before dinner or a night cap after.

Olana State Historic Site is a quick visit for the art and architecture buffs. The view is well worth it because it's perched on a ridge overlooking the entire valley.
It was home to Frederic Church who was a pioneer in the Hudson River School art movement (mid 19th century). His art and his peers brought a lot of public awareness about the Hudson Valley.
If you're not an art buff trust me Freddy Church and his style is a BIG DEAL. His work is in every major museum in the world, taught in every art class, and we're talking tens of millions of $$$ at auction. You'll get some major credibility with your art friends if you post an instagram photo while there :)

It's a great place to take kids and cut your own wild flowers to take home with you. If wildflowers aren't in season they also have great produce.

I love this place for coffee and dessert. It's new-ish, very charming and operated by owners who have a sister bakery in Brooklyn. It's hard not to go in and eat a cookie or cup cake every day. There's several good coffee shops in Hudson, but I prefer whatever brand of coffee they serve.
