Possible to go to Monaco by the motorway but the waterfront road is lovely (despite strong risk of traffic jams!): go to Nice, then Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu and Cap d'Ail

Plage / Beach

Only 3 minutes walk from the apartment! This horseshoe-shaped beach below Antibes medieval ramparts has a lot going for it. It’s wide, it’s sandy, it’s completely public- and it’s right in the middle of the old town, making it perfect for a quick swim while exploring Antibes, or to spread out with a picnic for the day.

The chic beaches and restaurants of La Garoupe on Cap d'Antibes are mostly private from Easter through September but there is a small public portion on La Garoupe where you can enjoy the fabulous setting for free. Or, enjoy a more elegant experience. Nestled in a small cove on Cap d’Antibes, this is the prettiest beach on this stretch of coast. Silky-soft white sands sloping into crystal clear waters, lots of little boats at anchor and the rocky headland a snorkeler’s heaven to explore. Unfortunately, most of the sand is private during the summer, meaning that it’s quite a posh affair.

This long, sandy beach on a sheltered cove is bracketed by the ramparts of Old Antibes in the east and Cap d'Antibes in the west. This is a lovely beach with a stunning view back over the town towards the Alps, although it’s not terribly wide and does get super-packed in summer. Almost entirely public, there is one beach club in the corner and a sailing and watersports centre.

Similar to Plage de Ponteil but longer, this narrow, sandy beach lies at the foot of Cap d'Antibes. Running from Antibes Sailing Club down to the beginning of Cap d’Antibes, this laid-back public beach has lovely soft white sand and wonderful views of the Old Town and the Cap d’Antibes. Like neighbouring Plage Ponteil, this beach gets packed in the summer.
