Literally around the corner. 100% of proceeds support faith-based treatment programs. My favorite spot for coffee or a quick pick-up place for breakfast biscuit, pastry, or lunch sandwich. Also great place to sit and work on a computer and sip on coffee. Free WIFI for patrons. Friendly service, great atmosphere! The biscuit with sausage and cheese is amazing (at a great price) - if you are daring, get hot sausage on it. Try the chocolate muffin too! Leisurely place to sit and chat or do work on the computer.

The best BREAKFAST/BRUNCH in town is at Toast Fairgrounds. Locally owned, closes at 2pm daily. AMAZING food that is a favorite among locals. Very close location to the rental. Opening time on weekends is 8 am, get there at opening time for NO WAIT, or ask to sit at the bar for a group of two (if bar is available for seating). Don't forget to ask for daily specials -- the catfish with grits and two eggs is a favorite. Or the hangar steak if you are hungry. Fried chicken and waffles with maple syrup and cayenne butter (yum!), Toast Burger, or Aebelskivers (round pancakes) with choice of topping -- try the house-made lemon curd). Food is fresh and delicious.

Great pizza, and they DELIVER quickly to the rental. Locally owned. Great locally-owned mom-and-pop pizza place. Pizza is hot and delicious, salads are tasty too! You have to try the Shrimp and Mirliton dip -- family recipe. My personal favorite is the homemade fennel sausage, pick out a pizza with it or add it to your favorite type of pizza.

Fresh sushi selection in a humble small setting. Staff is friendly and helpful and the sushi and hibachi selections are all amazing. I love the Seaweed Salad, Pepper Tuna Tataki and the BBQ Squid!

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT in New Orleans. Everything here is vegan and made with LOVE. Try the healing chai (with local honey). During the week, get the "Everything Plate", enough for 2 to share. The Malaysian Curry and the Fire Burger (it's spicy hot) are also favorites.

Vietnamese/Cajun fusion restaurant. Their veggie pho is best anywhere. Never a bad meal, all of the concoctions are mouth-watering. Ask about their specials, they are made with locally-sourced in-season items. On Saturdays, they roast a full pig and make entrees with it. You HAVE to try the Chicken Wings Appetizer, you will lick the plate clean. Bubble Tea cocktails (with/without alcohol) and other drinks (my favorite is the Dragon Lady).

Great stop for breakfast and coffee (with and without alcohol). Food is amazing and the staff is friendly. Great selection of baked goods too. In the Bywater area, but an easy drive from the rental right down Elysian Fields. As of mid June 2020, Who Dat is CLOSED due to COVID-19. They may revisit opening again in the fall.

Authentic German food and atmosphere. The grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy are my favorite. Try some German beer or a pretzel. Friendly, cozy atmosphere with outdoor seating. Close to Crescent Park (on the Mississippi River).

The country's greatest City Park. Check out the Botanical Gardens, Storyland, Carousel Gardens (seasonally operated, with a vintage operating carousel and other amusement rides), Putt Putt, and New Orleans World Famous Beignets from Cafe Du Monde (without the long line like the location in the French Quarter).
