The Island (formally The Palace Pool Club) is part of The Palace, Manila’s biggest destination. The Island Club is the country’s first day club and pool club. The club is similar to clubs like Marquee (Vegas) and Ushuaïa (Ibiza) with cabanas, daybeds, pools, and DJs spinning the hottest tunes.

Shangri-La at the Fort opens the chapter again with its new speakeasy, The Back Room. With its dark wood and black marble interiors, forest green leather panels, plush seating, and a fully-stocked bar, it is not at all difficult to imagine Hollywood Golden Age figures such as Charlie Chaplin, Clara Bow, or Greta Garbo holding court. Solo drinkers and chatty patrons are welcome to sit by the bar. Large groups may want to retreat behind the glass doors for the luxury of more seating room.

Food scene

Osteria is a casual Italian neighborhood bistro that serves simple pasta, meat specialties (definitely no pizza) and wine. Osteria Daniele commands a warm striking presence on the corner of 9th and 26th with high ceilings, cathedral windows and casual elegant vibe.

Landmark cafes that’s really walking distance from our place! My top favorite coffee: iced sea salt latte (their bestseller). Best to download the Harlan + Holden Coffee app so that you can order in advance and pick it up within 30 minutes.

Getting around

When not in a rush, always book a cab via Grab

A little more expensive than the usual cab, but this is the safest way of getting around town, next to traveling via a private car.
