Quiet neighbors. Tons of kayakers! You kayak from a pond/canal 15 min to the river. Go to the Left ( upstream) and you ll come to the state park. go to the right and you ll come to Rogers park. Plenty of small, sandy beaches for swimming or picnics or people watching!

The gulf waters are warm for a swim. Bring a floatie to lounge or wade in the water. There is a small fishing pier. The sunsets are gorgeous. Also, early in the eve dolphins are feeding near the shore. There is an eatery as well with picnic tables- or bring your own picnic. One of my favorite spots 3 mi from the loft. ( costs $5 for the day). After 5p no one at the gate to collect!

Excursions out and about ..
Take a ferry from Honeymoon Island State Park in Dunedin. Ph: 727 734-1501 ( ferry) no reservations. Takes 15 min to island. Leaves every 30 min hours 9 a m on weekends and m-fri 10 a m.
