Neighbourhoods

Hampstead is the prettiest and most romantic neighbourhoods of London. It may feel like an idyllic village in the countryside, yet it is a mere 4 stops to Bond Street and central London, and with a direct access by public transport to all London airports. Hampstead High Street is full of cafes, boutiques, restaurants and galleries with cutest side streets and hidden walks. The brownie point is the huge and picturesque Hampstead Heath with Kenwood House, where scenes from Notting Hill were filmed and where in Summer crowds gather for the classical picnic music concerts. The apartment itself is at the top of a lovely quiet residential leafy street, yet a mere 5-7 mins walk from nearest shops and cafes. A great place to lay your head down after a day of sightseeing and shopping.

LATEST UPDATE JUNE 2020: Most pubs are currently closed due to Covid-19. Some are serving take-away drinks but Pubs will be slowly reopening in July. Please check individual websites. Pubs are the most traditional British institution and in modern times they have all transformed into gastropubs, serving mainly home-style hearty and tasty food sourced from local farms. Pubs are unpretentious and friendly. A perfect place to go for a drink or casual dinner with friends. Please read this amazing blog post by The Wandering Quinn about 6 best Hampstead Pubs
The Wells Tavern Hampstead is one of the pubs near Hampstead Heath I recommend going to. I love its outdoor benches which are perfect to sit at all year round and the inside decor is less traditional pub style and a bit more modern. 16 years ago The Wells Tavern Hampstead was transformed from a run-down pub into the architectural Georgian gem that it is today and it sits in a lovely part of Hampstead surrounded by the beautiful old houses but is also very close to Hampstead Heath and close to both Hampstead Heath Overground Station and Hampstead Tube Station.
