One of the best black volcano sand beach in the island. Has a Red volcano at the end that you can hike. Very closed to the apartment, you could even go by walk around the coast. It will take you around 45 minutes by walk and 10 by car. It’s a nudist beach.

When it gets windy, sometimes it’s hard to stay in the beach with the sand. But don’t worry, when this happens, we go to the Volcanic Natural Pools of Los Abrigos. Take direction to El Médano/ La Tejita and when you get to the first greenhouse, walk right all the way down and you will see it on your left.

Los Abrigos is where the apartment is located. It’s a fisherman village with a Pier. You can buy fresh fish in the fish Market, located in the Pier from 9am to 14pm. In the Main Street you can find shops, supermarkets, restaurants, gym, diving schools, Ice cream shops, fruit shop, pharmacy, dentist, bank, coffee shops... You can swim in the Pier. There is also a volcanic stone beach called Playa Grande. Next to the first Green House going towards La Tejita, you can find the Volcanic Natural Pools. If you like adventure, I recommend you to go for a walk, to the wooden promenade and have a swim in the San Blas Beach, or any other beach or place prepared with stairs on your way. The walk from Los Abrigos to the Pier of Amarilla Golf could take you 45 minutes. It’s beautiful walk by the sea, where you can make stops to swim, there are some restaurants on the way too. You can also have a walk to the opposite side towards la Tejita by the coast too.

What to pack

Bring water shoes

Tenerife is a volcanic island and has lots of volcanic stones beaches and natural pools.

Rent a Car

The best choice, car rentals are very affordable here. There is a local company called Cicar and they have normally very competitive prices, all the cars have full insurance coverage, so no surprises at the end, even if it’s a bit more expensive than others could be. It’s totally worth it.

Beach Etiquette

Bear in mind that you can be top less in all beaches in the Canary Islands and some of them are nudist, like La Tejita, very popular one. It doesn’t mean you need to get naked too. It’s your choice.
