Food Scene

Triggerfish is a craft brewery with an amazing selection of beers to try. My favourite is the breakfast ale - a dark brew infused with coffee. Two of my favourite things! Triggerfish is located in a quiet remote area, and you feel like you are miles out of the city, when in fact it is maybe only a km or two. So relaxing... They also have a selection of artisanal breads with dips to choose from... great to mop up all that beer :-)

Schoon is the most "stellenbosch-ie" restuarant you can find. The decor is eclectic and iconic; you can watch their famous sourdough breads being made; and their menu is simply out of this world! Try the french toast... a taste sensation!

This market runs every Saturday from 10h00 till 14h00. They have a great selection of fresh produce, but also plenty of food stalls. I love the intimacy of this market - it's not commercial, and still retains that cosy family feel.

Drinks & Nightlife

Thirsty Oyster is a really amazing seafood restuarant - try their platters! Calamari is simply out of this word!! They are located right on the marina in Gordon's Bay which makes the views splendid. What I really enjoy though is that they often have live music. This is when this amazing family restuarant turns into a vibey night spot. Its great for quiet family lunches, but equally super to dance the night away.

Entertainment & Activities

Cavalli is a super luxurious wine estate and stud farm. What I absolutely LOVE about them is the hidden gems: Sip your wine and walk through an eclectic art gallery... Ask your wine waiter to show you the "hidden door" to the owners personal sports memorabilia collection. This stuff is out of this world and dates back to the early 1900's! A real must see! While you are enjoying your wine tasting in the sumptuous cellar, you'll appreciate the owners personal whiskey collection... as well as some signed guitars from the likes of Bono. Really surprising! Great venue!

Parks & Nature

Helderberg plaas has amazing braai areas under the trees for those humming hot days we sometimes get here. For the kiddies there is a bunny enclosure and duck pond. They also have paintball games, hiking trails and a small restaurant. Great place to escape the city, and re-connect with nature.
