Mexican, casual spot, good for lunch or dinner. Eat inside or on the small outdoor patio. A favorite of mine is the chicken mole enchiladas dish. They have delicious fresh guacamole, and quite a menu for margaritas. http://www.javelinacantinasedona.com/

Beautiful drive through oak creek canyon between Sedona and Flagstaff to the North. There are some hiking trail areas in the canyon (you will need to purchase a pass to park there), and some hairpin turns on a steep mountain pass with spectacular views. West Fork trailhead is located in the canyon, and slide rock state park on oak creek is a great place to cool off in the heat.

Getting around

So many trails......

Sedona has so many options for great hiking and biking trails! You can easily access some of the trails that are just a few minutes walk from the house, or go out for a more challenging more remote all-day hike. There are a few guide books at the house to give you some ideas. If you drive and park at trailhead - you will need to purchase a pass ahead. Closest place is at Circle K store near Andante and 89A on main road near house. In summer months, it gets very hot by mid-morning - I like to go out early for a sunrise hike and finish before the heat builds. Do bring plenty of water!

Wildlife

Do expect to see wildlife in the neighborhood, and especially if you go out on the trails. Some of the animals you may encounter: white tail deer, many different bird species, bats, rabbits, reptiles, Javelina [also known as the collared peccary] (https://azstateparks.com/javelina), coyote, and there are rare reports of black bear and bobcats in the area.
