Neighborhoods worth checking out

Some of the famous Rossiter Mansions are located around the Washington Green Area. For architecture enthusiasts, it's worth the drive-by to take a look at some of these spectacular homes. Rossiter buildings in Washington include: Rock Gate, completed in 1885 for Lucius A. Barbour, owner of the Willimantic Linen Company and a Freemason. His own country home, called the Rocks, which was started in 1882 and built over two decades.
