Old Town, Eureka is a small city center on the Humboldt Bay. We have various coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, museums, chocolatiers, and marinas. You can cruise the bay with cocoa or a cocktail on the Madaket. You can take a carriage ride with Brendan Fearon and his beautiful horses through the narrow Old Town passes. You can enjoy an afternoon of shopping at Stonesthrow Boutique, Timber Boutique, Blue Ox Boutique, Shipwrecked, Little Shop of Hers, and The Land of Lovely. You can indulge in a spa day at The Spa at Personal Choice, and follow it up with a walk on the boardwalk and some ice cream from Living the Dream Ice Cream. It's small town, it's quaint and quirky, it's coastal and cozy. We have a visible houseless population you may encounter on your stroll.

Very intimate dining. This is our favorite neighborhood bistro. We are never disappointed and always are struck by the romantic intimacy of Brick & Fire. Their wine list is fantastic and they have a specialty wine bar called, 2-doors down you can visit too.

It's hard to find superb Mexican food in Humboldt County, this is fairly good. Large portions and can accommodate large parties.

Kinda dive-y but surprisingly delicious and FRESH fish and seafood in this dive-bar atmosphere in the industrial district on the Humboldt Bay. When it's not COVID times they have a very fun karaoke community and quality draft beer options. I'm always surprised by how much I love Vista del Mar.

Also the main local supplier of skates for our Roller Derby if you need to pick up some roller skates while you're in town.

One of our favorite local breweries! They have really quality beer, good food at the brewery, and my favorite boozy water--CLARITY which beats White Claw every time. It's in Fortuna in a strange little industrial complex on the Eel River. You'll feel like you're about to go on 'Storage Wars' as you enter, but fear not, the beer is WORTH IT! They have a backyard beer garden with kitties that roam. If you like beer and visiting local spots, check out Eel River Brewing...now I want to go.

Blue Lake is the unknown gem of Humboldt County. Not a ton to do there but the views and the Mad River Brewing Co and a dip in the Mad are well worth it. A huge selection of brews and some yummy pub food. My favorite spot for an early boozy afternoon after a dip in the river.
