City advice

Getting around

Tuc-tucs are the fastest way to get around

Tuc-tucs are all over the town, so if you want to hop in on one, you just raise your arm for it to stop. Prices are quite basic: 5-10-15 Quetzales are asked for short or long routes, prices vary on the number of people you are with.
Don't miss

The Sunsets at the beach

The perfect spot to go and view a breathtaking sunset is at the Restaurant we recommended, not only will you see the lake and the sky change color, but you will see it while you are drinking, eating and listening to live music!
Customs and culture

Attention with where you are taking pictures

Just a head up so you avoid any unpleasant comment or situation...Taking pictures inside churches is not well looked upon, neither it is to take them at people or products without asking first.
Getting around

Boats around the lake

From the port of Panajachel, you will find boats that go to almost all destinations in the lake. The typical price is 10-15 Quetzales x person (depending on where you want to go). There is no predetermined schedule of boats and destinations, but there is also the possibility to take a private "lancha" (boat) to anywhere you want at your preferred hour.
