Beautiful state park located 9 miles east of I-75. 37,000 acres of beautiful views. Great place to drive-thru, walk or bike to your heart’s content. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch alligators sun-bathing! The Myakka River flows through more than 50 square miles of the park. While there you can boat, fish, canoe, and kayak. Myakka is a great place to see birds of all kinds. While there, don’t forget to stop at the Myakka Canopy Walkway. It provides easy access to observe life in the treetops of an oak/palm hammock. Walkway suspends 25 feet above ground and extends 100 feet through the hammock canopy. It makes for a great view!!

One of my favorite places to go on a long morning run. Great views with abundant wildlife. Robinson Preserve is a nature preserve with hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, a boat launch, and observation platform. It is a salt marsh and home to jumping mullets and hundreds of other types of fish and marine life. Bathrooms and plenty of parking on site.

One of my favorite views in all of Sarasota and favorite place to run. The Ringling Bridge is iconic to Sarasota. The bridge was built in 2003 and named after circus great, John Ringling. (Hence why the city is nicknamed “The Circus City”). Round trip over the bridge and back is about 2 miles. You can walk, run, or ride your bike from downtown Sarasota all through way to St. Armand’s Circle. Take in the breeze, gorgeous sunshine, and watch the boats pass by from 65 feet below.

Iconic statue located in downtown Sarasota. Located along the Bayfront on a swath of parkland between O’Leary’s Tiki Bar & Grill and Marina Jack.
