Parks & Nature

Flowers, flowers, flowers!!!! If you happen to be in NYC in the Springtime, you must find Shakespeare's Garden. This is a magical, romantic garden sitting between the Swedish Cottage and Belvedere Castle. The flowers and lush green plants create a setting that seems to come right out of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The garden is on the west side of the park between 79th and 80th St.

If you are an art lover, it is a must!!!! Just a walk across Central Park from my place. If you want to actually see all of this immense gallery, plan to spend a whole day there! The cafe in the museum is good for a pick-me-up.

This is an interesting, kind of unknown museum. The Met Cloisters—the branch of the Museum devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe—opened to the public in 1938. You can take the "A" train to the very last stop uptown to get there (easy). Walk the beautiful flower gardens, explore medieval European culture ~ have a day away from the classic NYC hustle and bustle!

If you can find the Ladies Pavilion - you will also find a most beautiful view of the skyline south of the Park. This is a Victorian cast-iron pavilion on The Lake in Central Park. It has a quaint feel; I've photographed many a wedding here! The Ladies Pavilion is located on the west side of the park between 75th and 76th St.

Well, it is a must for a most iconic view of NYC and the surrounding areas! Try to go on the most clear day, and if you can schedule it around sunset... wow! Remember, the lines will be long, so give yourself at least an hour to wait. :(
