Drinks & Nightlife

Almost a secret spot if you don't know where to look for it on Eddy Street, just off of Westminster in the Down City district. Great drinks, hot pretzels, and a late night food menu. Fun spot, feels like a New York bar dropped into Providence. Great for people watching and a night out.

You might drive by this perfect little bar on the far West end of town. The store front looks like a non-descript lingerie shop, but inside is a cozy little bar with great drinks. Great if you're willing to venture out late nights.

Sightseeing

Also known as Block Island, this is the perfect place for a day trip in the Summer months. Jump on the ferry at Point Judith in Galilee and cross Block Island sound. There are some great, calm swimming beaches, plus bike and moped rentals to see the beautiful views and quaint houses. It can be quite crowded on Saturdays and Sundays, so go during the week if you have the time. And I highly recommend going to see Mohegan Bluffs. The views are spectacular, and if you're willing to scurry down the rocks to the beach, it's a really lovely spot to build rock sculptures and watch the crashing seas.

Great museum that mixes the old with the new. Two building full of contemporary art, as well as a fairly decent collection of design, furniture, and old school art, and Sunday's are free to the general public.

Parks & Nature

This is a very scenic bike path that you can pick up near India Point park on the East Side of Providence, and you can ride the full length, which will take you all the way to Bristol, RI. It's recently been upgraded and is a good challenge for anyone who has a decent bike and strong legs. And there are plenty of places to stop along the way. I recommend stopping in Warren and going to either Blounts Clamshack in the summer, or Eli's Restaurant for a bite to eat before you return back to Providence.
