The Dry Tortugas are a small group of islands, located in the Gulf of Mexico at the end of the Florida Keys, about 67 miles west of Key West. From Key West, you can get there with the ferry, usually takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes. You will have a little over four hours to explore and enjoy Fort Jefferson and the beaches of the Dry Tortugas, and after that the ferry would take you back on the island.
