One of the most beautiful Cotswold villages to spend a day in, wandering by the river that runs right past the stunning cotswold stone cottages, visiting one of the many cafes for a cream tea (jam or cream on top?!) and popping into one of the many shops, museums or bird park. Just a lovely place to spend some time.

A beautiful place to wander round and right next to Sudeley Castle and grounds, Winchcombe is not to be missed. A river runs through the back of the town and it has a number of great restaurants and tea shops.

Just a 45 minute drive will bring you to the beautiful Wye valley, with it's stunning rivers, beautiful woodlands and the market town of Ross. Symonds Yat is on the outskirts of the town and offers stunning views of the river and local countryside. One of our favourite places to spend a day and if you like canoeing, you can pre-hire a canoe trip down the River Wye.

Cleeve Hill and Common is a hugely popular spot to take a breath taking walk with amazing views of Cheltenham and as far as the Malvern Hills and Black Mountains. The first place in the area to get snow in the winter and a lovely expanse of moors and hills to enjoy in the summer. Plus there's a golf club if you fancy a challenging 18 holes!

Shopping

An indoor shopping outlet centre with the added advantage of the docks on the far side. A pleasant area to walk around, have a coffee and spot the boats or tall ships that might be docked!

Family days out

Our children are all grown up now but these are some of the places we used to love to take them to.
A wonderful family activity centre, the Cotswold water park offers sailing, paddle boarding, kayaks etc. It also has a lakeside beach and beautiful walks and makes a great day out for all the family.
