Robin, chef/owner is a former 6th grade student whose generosity in portion size matches his fun and engaging personality. He cooks for people to enjoy. Filipino/Hawaiian/Asian fusion menu items presents a “query of what to order.” Every flavorful, crispy, tender, menu item is accompanied by side dishes of your choosing and lip smacking dipping sauces. Oh, Robin was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives a few years back. Our fav lunchtime place. Advise calling in your order. About 1/2 hour before opening, BDM has a long long waiting to place orders. It’s that popular!

Or favThai food satisfies with every visit. The pad se you noodles coupled with the crispy lemon grass chicken from the pupu (snack) menu is our fav go to meal. Everything else is delicious and the young owners are welcoming and efficient. We share our garden fresh galangal with the chef. It’s a Thai cooking staple similar to ginger.

Local Japanese, convenient for tourists as it’s in town and plenty of parking. The menu fav is the panko crusted garlic shrimp! Of course the tempura is especially yummy as the owner Ron served as the cook for Teshima’s for many years. The grandson of the dearly loved Mama Teshima of Teshima’s in Kainaliu opened this restaurant to honor his mother Fumi who managed the family restaurant.

If you are hungry, period and in Waimea just tooling around, stop by, sign in and expect to wait at least 15 minutes as it’s always packed! The Hawaiian/Asian/American menu is crowded with foods that will satisfy. We’ve heard delighted comments from unsuspecting visitors about the enormous portions and delicious flavors. Our personal fav is Korean short ribs. Ok, since reopening after Covid19, the restaurant is remodeled and refreshed. A new item is a huge bowl of the kal bi ribs with Hawaiian style poke. It’s now the favorite meal. I travel 45 minutes to Waimea/Kamuela for a taste that sends me into a culinary coma. It’s perfect, and always plenty to take home!

This is a fun, busy (reservations strongly recommend) new restaurant in the Old Industrial area. Check out the extensive menu items with ramen, sushi, small plates of deep fried items and more. With a number of items, you’re able to substitute miso soup for a mini ramen. Absolutely delicious! Our favorites are the unagi bowl and the chirashi (seafood selections on a bowl of sushi rice), yum!
