Schnapps that will warm you up quicker than any heater and food that will leave a smile on your face long after. The beautiful venue and scenery also make for a special meal.

City advice

What to pack

Warm layers are essential

Make sure you don't forget to pack thermal layers, gloves and a beanie. A good quality weatherproof jacket is essential as are hiking boots or similar.
Book before you go

Book in advance

Things book out quickly here. If there are places you want to eat, activities you want to do, try to book them well in advance. Restaurants, ski lessons, etc will usually be exhausted prior to your arrival.
Getting around

Take advantage of the ski tube

If you aren't confident driving in hazardous conditions, don't have a 4wd or know how to fit car chains, just use the ski tube to access Thredbo or Perisher in the winter time.
Customs and culture

Be alert for wildlife

We are blessed to be surrounded by nature here but it also means that there is a high risk of wildlife on roads. Most are out and about at dawn and dusk, so be extra vigilant then. If you see injured wildlife please report them to Laoko on 02 64561313.
