Something for everyone - enter through a 'secret' and unique cave entrance to discover a long sandy beach with big water (for strong swimmers only) plus a sheltered lagoon for the kids to swim in calm water. A beautiful beach, only 15 minutes from the Grass Tree at Middle River.

Bushwalks/hikes

Fantastic walk through regenerating vegetation to a wild, secluded beach. Now reopened and still boasts stunning scenery. One of our favourite walks on KI. Go at low tide and explore the second cave back from the water line - opens up into huge cavern with stalag-mites and -tites!!! Pack water and a snack for the beach (half way) and wear good walking gear/shoes as is a long ish walk. And be aware of the path ahead as there may be snakes - we haven't seen any, but there are plenty of goannas around!

Snake Lagoon to Rocky River mouth walk, now also reopened. A beautiful and moderately challenging walk. Some steep sections especially towards the end (beach) but well worth the effort. Great full day hike or 3 hours if you walk one way - for which you will need a car or a person willing to collect you at each end of the trail! Starting at the Kelly Hill Caves Conservative Park HQ on the South Coast Road, experience dense vegetation which has redoubled post bushfire, opening out to vast Grassdale Lagoon (home to many swans and waterfown), followed by sand dunes through to Hanson Bay. Pack water and a snack and wear good walking gear/shoes as even half way is a long ish walk. And be aware of the path ahead as there may be snakes!

A new vebue, so we haven't tried it yet, but Anerican River locals swear by it. Small sittings so book in advance, set menu with local paired wine offerings. They say: dinnertime service from Tuesdays to Sundays. Starting time of 18:30 between November and April and 17:30 between June and October. Holidays. From 26th April until 1st June.
