The name "Looking Glass" when water freezes on its sides in the winter and then glistens in the sunlight like a mirror or looking glass. It's perhaps the easiest fall to view, accessible from roadside making it perfect for folks with mobility and walking challenges.

The journey to the summit makes for a fantastic, strenuous, upward hike through a scenic, creek-filled forest on Pinnacle Park’s West Fork Trail. The hike is challenging, but exceptionally rewarding. The views from the rocky summit are sublime, stretching over the surrounding Appalachian peaks to the far-distant horizon. 6.5 miles Round trip.

A moderate but short hike (1.2 miles rountrip) easy-to-access. It goes through a rhododendron thicket brings you to the pinnacle and 360˚views, glorious sunsets or morning mist on the mountains.

Scenic 2.5-mile loop trail to Crabtree Falls is moderate to strenuous with a steep incline and rocky terrain. Allow 1.5 to 2.5 hours for the entire hike. From the trailhead in the parking lot behind the campground entrance, the trail descends .9 mile to the falls. The wet rocks are VERY slippery. After viewing the falls, you can return either by retracing your steps, or by continuing on a longer but more gradual ascent back to the parking lot. The longer route begins as a moderately steep switchback that provides another beautiful view of the falls.
