Sightseeing

If you turn west out of my driveway and then turn left at the stop sign at Hwy 118, keep going through Monroe until the road veers left past the fire station and the horse arena. Before you get up the hill, you may see some elk in the farm to your left. On the right is a little fishing pond that is stocked and is fun for the littles. You won't catch any big ones, but you will usually catch something. :) Keep going up the canyon and you will find Monrovian Park which has some beautiful daytime picnic areas and some nice hiking paths that follow the creek. Many people take family pictures in Monrovian park. It is a beautiful area!

If you're going through the Circleville area, take a few minutes to stop by Butch Cassidy's boyhood home. It's a fun little piece of history. :)

City advice

The local hot springs are wonderful!

One of my favorite places around here that only the locals know about are the hot springs up on the hill in Monroe. I am not speaking of Mystic Hot Spring, those are different. The ones on the hill are all natural clay and water. You can see them steaming on the hillside if you look to the southeast from your room. To get there, go east out of my driveway, then drive until you hit Washburnville Road and turn right. Follow this road into Monroe and turn left on 300 North. This road will turn into a dirt road. Follow it until you see the hot springs and enjoy a relaxing hot soak.

Floating the Sevier River is a blast!

One of the places you can get in the river is just across the freeway from the Fremont Indian State Park. You can rent tubes from places like Big Rock Adventures or buy tubes from a local tire shop or Walmart. We absolutely love floating the river!

Trail Riding!

If you don't have your own horses, but would like to see the area on horseback, check out SCTrailRides.com. If you have your own horses, I recommend the trail near Gooseberry in Salina, Utah (weather permitting; it can get muddy and wet depending on the time of year).
