Rochester High Street, independent shops, coffe shops, restaurants and more. Look above the shop facias and spot which actual buildings relate to Dickens novels. Also Dickens writing hut is preserved just outside the towns library. Also note that virtually no two buildings are the same, dating from Elizabethan times to present day, including Art Deco.

Restoration House in Rochester, Kent in England, is a fine example of an Elizabethan mansion. It is so named after the visit of King Charles II on the eve of his restoration. Charles had landed in Dover on 25 May 1660 and by the evening of the 28th arrived in Rochester. Opening times are seasonal but you may be able to looka t the gardens.
