A big series of events animate the historic center and the immediate outskirts of the town.
The heart of the Settembre Lucchese, stronlgy linked to the tradition and the religiosity of the people, is the Luminara di Santa Croce which is held on the evening of September 13 in the streets of Old Town Lucca, where every building is lit by candles and all the city lights are turned off.
