Downtown - This is a great spot for a couple or large group. (Ensure you make reservations early to get a spot). They have the best steak in town. The ribeye is fantastic and can be shared with 2-4 people. We would go there for date night, order the ribeye, a salad, a side vegetable and a bottle of wine. We would always have enough to feed our 18 year old son when we got home.

Downtown - Great little taco place. small menu but great choices. The “Baby Kale Salad” is a great complement to tacos or nachos. The margarita's are nothing but tequila, triple sec and fresh squeezed limes. Locals will ask them to float with their juices (jimica, cucumber mint, watermelon) to take some of the tartness out of them. They are small but pack a punch.

If you walk to Memorial stadium where KU football plays, you need to walk up the hill a bit and right of the Camponile. You will find Potter's Lake. A peaceful, restful place in the center of town.

The Camponile or Bell tower is the location where every graduate walks through before descending into the stadium for the graduation ceremony. It chimes the bells every fifteen minutes from 7 am to 9 pm. If you stand outside you can here them. Different bells represent different times.
