Seafood Lovers! My favorite hole in the wall seafood place for fresh or boiled shrimp, crawfish, you name it. Those that are looking for fine dining need not go here. Those that are looking for fresh, flavorful seafood, this is for you. Order in one line. Pick up at another. You'll be shoulder to shoulder with everyone else, but it's alright! Turn around is quick.

Stopped here for a quick lunch and was amazed with the amount of food a the price. Just as good as any upscale place around here for wayyy cheaper. Chargrilled oysters were the best I've had in New Orleans so far and so meaty and tastey. Garlic fries are to die for and the BBQ shrimp poboy and the catsfish were both very good and nicely portioned.

Super thankful for our uber driver, who recommended this place to us. A local favorite and definitely a must go to spot for when in NOLA! The place itself isn't fancy, but who cares when the food is delicious and inexpensive? There's a line specific for boiled seafood and altogether, my friends and I ordered shrimp, crab, sausage. We also ordered a catfish rice platter, corn, and two orders of gumbo. Everything was so filling and so good. I wish we had more time in NOLA to go back before we left, but there's always next time. We will be ordering the turkey necks for sure! Come to Cajun Seafood with an empty stomach and a big appetite! SO WORTH IT! Also, the staff was super friendly

One of our favorite stops in NOLA was Mother's! We got there at around 9 or 10 am on a Wednesday and it was not busy at all. However, at times, the line is wrapped around the building. Worth it, though! The people are absolutely amazing in here!! Even if the food wasn't great, I'd still rate them high just for the people. But the food was amazing, so there you have it. I had to try the ham because the sign says "worlds best baked ham". Oh, and it was!! It was so good! Husband had the egg and meat sandwich; we did NOT expect the monstrosity that arrived; it was HUGE!!! And ever so tasty!! Kid had the pancake and said, and I quote, "No offense to your pancakes, Mom, but this is the best p

Parks & Nature

This park and recreation center is still in the works but has several aspects that are already in full swing. This includes tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, basketball courts, extra rooms for "rent", walking trail. So many diverse people use this park it is just invigorating. Even though some of the trails are secluded, they have security staff along those parts so you never feel unsafe. The young teenagers that hang out there for the basketball courts are as respectful as teenagers these days can be. Parents keep control of their own kids. People smile and have conversations along the trail. I think I saw someone fishing but I don't know if that is actually allowed. Some seniors

Entertainment & Activities

I cannot express how magical this slice of paradise is. How wonderful the sun feels on your skin, how beautiful nature sounds here. The Audubon Louisiana Nature Center will bring out the inner kid in you when you see swamp rabbits and red cardinals birds. It's easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of our Big Easy, but this is a hidden gem in our backyard. Pack water, sunscreen, mosquito repellent and make the short drive out here to enjoy a few hours of Mother Nature blushing and beaming with pride. The trails are well kept, there are designated areas for fire pits, rocking chairs at the Nature Center to relax into, maps throughout guiding your walking path.

The same kind of authenticity that gives the French Quarter its immutable sense of place crosses Canal when Royal Street becomes St. Charles Avenue. This grand and leafy residential avenue, which stretches more than five miles before terminating near the river at South Carrollton Avenue, is the embodiment of so many things New Orleans. Look up into the gorgeous old oaks that line the street, and at the shimmering Mardi Gras beads that mark an epic Carnival route. The sounds a green streetcar announces the oldest continuously running route for such transit in the world and a National Historic Landmark that takes French Quarter visitors to the Garden District and Uptown and locals to work and

A Historically Popular Shopping Area In 1791, the French Market originated as a Native American trading post along the Mississippi River. From there it continued to evolve into a cultural and commercial hub for New Orleans, as French and Spanish colonists opened the market up to ships and traders from all over the world. Over the next three centuries, immigrants from Europe, Africa and the Caribbean began to open their own venues at this French Quarter market, offering everything from Italian butcheries to African coffee and Choctaw spices.

If New Orleans history was translated to the silver screen, it would be a blockbuster – a story dripping with drama, romance, piracy, intrigue, tragedy, and inspiration. Volleyed between the French and the Spanish from the late 17th century until the United States bought Louisiana for pennies an acre in 1803, New Orleans is forever shaped by its European heritage. The city’s broad timeline offers a portal into what we see, taste, hear and experience in 21st century New Orleans.
