A lovely little library funded by the Carnegie Foundation. The library features many photos and artifacts from the area, and includes historical information about the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe and early European settlers.

We highly recommend that you start your ONP visit at the Visitors Center on Mount Angeles Road, just south of Park Avenue. The rangers can provide an overview of the Park, as well as current information on road and trail conditions, and tides. The wta.org website is a great place to check out hiking trails in and around ONP.

If it’s overcast, check the webcams (do an Internet search on “Hurricane Ridge webcams“). It’s often sunny up there when the skies are gray in Sequim. Spectacular views of Mount Olympus and the back ranges, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
One of our favorite places in ONP, no matter the weather. Two easy hikes in this area are: Marymere Falls and the Spruce RR Trail. Hanging out at the Lodge is a good option too.

The closest Pacific Coast beaches are at La Push. You can drive to First Beach (next to the fishing village for the Quilleute tribe) or Rialto Beach. Second Beach is our favorite, but involves a short hike to get there.
