CASH ONLY - (Walking Distance) Possibly the oldest pizza place in Baton Rouge, it's been running for almost 100 years - so the pizza MUST be good. The Fleur de Lis is a symbol associated with France. "Fleur" means "flower" in French, and "Fleur de lis" roughly translates to "flower of the lily". The fleur de lis (spelled fleur de lys in French) was used in the coat of arms of the royalty of France.

Walking Distance! JED's is inspired by the po-boy shops of New Orleans, and they would like the restaurant to serve as a neighborhood establishment for Mid City. The space is modern and airy, with big windows, and casual: It's counter-service, and po-boys and crinkle-cut fries come out on metal trays or wrapped in heavy butcher paper for to-go orders.

Walking distance!!! (Parking is limited, so you will want to walk.) Walking into Soji feels like being transported to a more cosmopolitan city. The space manages to be hip yet laid-back. Bright neon signs alight the walls throughout; seating around the raw bar provides dinner and a show; "Soji", in ancient Chinese, means a gathering of people. I go for the drunken noodles. Also, the recently opened Lotus Lounge bar inside the restaurant serves up tropical drinks that aren’t readily available at the city’s other watering holes.

This is the neighborhood you are in!!! The BEST neighborhood in BR. My favorite walking routes are: 1."Magic Canopy" : South on Glenmore > East on Capital Heights > South on Ingleside > West on Broussard > North on Glenmore (Until you get back home!) 2. "Parade Route" South on Glenmore > West on Hundred Oaks > North on Steele (or Richland, both are nice) > East on Capital Heights > North on Glenmore (Until you are back home!) 3. Up and Down Capital Heights (Glenmore is in the middle, so you can go west on Capital Heights from Glenmore until you hit S. Acadian, or East until you hit Jefferson Hwy. (You will have to cross S. Foster, but it's worth it.) 1.5 - 2 miles, depending.

Beautiful old oak trees line the streets if this neighborhood. There are lots of people walking their dogs, biking, jogging, and pushing their children in strollers. Our St. Patrick's Day and Spanish Town parades roll through these majestic oaks each year. Beads still cover many of the trees. CATS and LSU bus routes are located here. Just a few miles from LSU campus.
