This local Cambodian restaurant has been here forever and is our go-to if we feel like eating out mid-week. The family who own this restaurant are the nicest of the nicest. It somehow has a homely feel for us. The menu is quite varied and akin to Thai food. Easy stroll to the Cove, turn right at the Royal Hotel, walk through the tunnel (lit up like a rainbow at night) and it's the first restaurant you come to on your left.

A stunning botanic garden with incredible views over the city. It is home to some of the most varied and interesting native plants. A great place to visit for first-timers to Perth. Also has coffee shop and the very special Fraser's restaurant (book ahead if you can).

I can't recommend this glorious bridge highly enough. You can walk from here to this bridge and return on the other side of the river via the Windan bridge. There is also a Zip line business operating from the top of its arch (if you're game).

City advice

Getting around

Take advantage of the free Yellow Cat bus service

While it's easy to pick up the phone and call an Uber, why not consider taking the bus into the city. It's not far from here, just a leisurely stroll away. You get to cross the beautiful Claisebrook Cove footbridge and see the city skyline from there, especially at sunset for awesome photographs. The bus stop is Victoria Gardens on Royal St.
