Arts & Culture

Diverse, world class exhibitions and live music on Fridays (and there's a statue of "Rocky," if you're a movie buff -- running up the steps was part of his training regimen). It's right on the Ben Franklin Parkway, but can be a bit of a hike if using public transportation. Definitely hop across the Parkway to the Perelman building, if you're into contemporary art.

Architecturally, the Kimmel Center is gorgeous, with a rooftop view of Center City. It's the home of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Philadanco (modern dance company) and other cultural treasures. There's also a trendy, celebrity chef restaurant that's supposed to be excellent.
