A great place for a traditional Scottish breakfast, or a less traditional one. Very popular on weekend mornings - should book. (note the map looks wrong: this cafe is on the corner of Hyndland Street and White Street)

Great little Scandinavian coffee shop. I bought my flat off a Swedish family a few years ago, and this was their go-to place. Mine too. It's quite small, so sometimes you have to take coffee to go.

The family who run this live part of the year in Italy and bring back delicious Italian wines and products. You can buy bottles to go, either in the usual way or by filling up your own bottles from a tap they have. Or you can sit on their big table and sip wine by the glass.

My recommended fish and chip shop if you want to try the British special. In Scotland, as well as fried fish there are battered sausages, potato fritters and the infamous "pizza crunch" which is pizza, battered and deep fried. I can't say I would recommend.
