Sightseeing

This is a great walking tour if you are interested in WW2 and the Blitz. Many of the inhabitants of Ramsgate lived in these tunnels during the war. The have recreated some of the accommodation so you can see exactly what it was like. Perhaps not suitable for v small children.

Margate Old Town is just across the road from the Turner Museum. It is full of little interesting clothes shops, art galleries and interesting looking people!

Amongst the rides and attractions is what I think is the oldest wooden roller coaster in the country. They also stage some good concerts in the evenings.

This is in the centre of Broadstairs further down the same street as Morelli's, the recommended ice-cream stop. Great for a very competitive family mini golf competition

This is a very child friendly pub with an outside children's playground. There is also an indoor children's' play area which might be a great option on a rainy day. Traditional pub food and reasonably priced

Reasonably priced and there is a lovely terrace overlooking the bay on the first floor level. Free refills of coffee and we always walk there from Broadstairs and then treat ourselves to a reasonable priced cooked breakfast.

A great traditional pizza place. If you have small children with you, Prezzo's which is right next door is very child friendly. Both have covered terraces out the back in the summer if you want meal overlooking the bay.
