Food Scene

The front of the restaurant is pretty casual, serving noodles and parfaits. The back is dedicated to a completely different menu, which I've never tried since it's mostly meat.

Best pastries in any coffee shop for 100 miles. Seriously. Maybe I'm just sick of Macrina pastries, but Cortona gives you a great selection from local places which typically are not represented in most cafes. They have been here for years and serve awesome coffee as well. If they are out of pastries, get a Belgian waffle with fresh fruit. So good. Awesome wifi too. Many cafes around the hill have bad wifi so people won't camp out.

Terra Plata is one of my favorites. Sit on the patio if it's open. Get all the vegetable dishes and the Huckleberry tart if it's on the menu. Very good, very expensive cocktails.

Best falafel in the city. I love Mamnoon, which means "thank you" in Farsi and Arabic. It was opened by Wassef and Racha Haroun in 2012.

Pretty large park, so even when there are many other people there you can usually find a spot that isn't terribly crowded.
