A unique self-serve local fruit and vegetable business on Eastside road. This little shop is located in a refrigerated red shipping container. Walk in, find what you're looking for, drop some cash in the bin, and be on your way!

HIGHLY recommended deli shop. It's so popular with the locals that our best advice is to "show up early". They sell out of their top picks every day (be sure to try to snag some of their beef jerky—if they have any left!).

Do you like authentic Mexican? This is it! This is a local pick and is a food truck on the side of the hwy, with limited seating. There can often be a long wait, but we've heard it's well worth the wait (and we think so too!). Our favourite way to do the Mexican food truck is to order and take it up to Hester Creek Winery and to eat in their picnic area (5-minute drive away). Bonus tip: do it when a live band is playing at Hester Creek!

Adventuring

Skaha Bluffs is a destination for rock climbers from all over North America. Whether you're a climber or just want to explore some trails, this is one of our favourite local spots. Featuring 66 crags and over 1000 climbs in three main canyons. Most climbs (around 65%) are sport routes but there's lots of great trad climbing as well.

While Apex Mountain Resort itself is seasonal, the area offers year-round fun for families and individuals alike. In the summer, there are some great hikes and mountain biking, and in the winter, you'll find Nordic, and champagne powder for some of the best skiing around.

A MUST VISIT trail in Okanagan Falls—the trestle bridge! Whether you're hoping to bike to Penticton along the lake, go for a short evening stroll, or test your courage and jump off the bridge into Skaha Lake—this is one of our favourite spots. The bridge has a gate halfway across that is set up with a platform for jumping into the lake. Once you're in the lake, you'll find two ladders to climb out using.

Sightseeing

Starting from Lions Gardens Park, you'll find the Okanagan Falls section of the KVR trail. This trail crosses a trestle bridge (great for jumping into the lake!) and heads North towards Penticton. Whether you're just out for an evening stroll along the lake, or you'd like to test your endurance and challenge yourself to ride to Penticton for ice cream, this is definitely one of our favourites. Note: when you get to Kaleden, the trail runs along the roadway before ducking back onto the lakeside trail.
